77 - Palathuruwella - Padiyatalawa

Palathuruwella is a village in Padiyathalawa Divisional Secretariat, Ampara District, Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. It is around 70km away from the town of Ampara. Palathuruwella suburb is selected for the next phase of the Pivithuru Pan Puja Project due to the high prevalence of CKDu outbreaks. The most of residents in this area are farmers. They do not have enough potable water for consumption. More than 7 people were already diagnosed with CKDu and few deaths have been reported in the last two years. However, the real number is more than that due to late or missed diagnosis. The major barrier to CKDu prevention is the late identification and poor living condition of the villagers. Sometimes if they are diagnosed with CKDu, they don’t seek proper consultations due to low economic status.

We suppose to make our future generation free from life threatening CKDu by giving pure water through establishing a state of-the-art water purification system that uses reverse osmosis technique to remove harmful chemicals from water. Beyond Humanity Foundation is willing to take part in this meritorious act as pious sponsors for this project in Palathuruwella Village, Padiyathalawa. Around 1000 innocent peoples will be served from this project area.
