Description

Saranagama  is a village in Padiyathalawa Divisional Secretariat, Ampara District, Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. It is around 82km away from the town of Ampara. Saranagama suburb is selected for the next phase of Pivithuru Pan Puja Project due to the high prevalence of CKDu outbreak. The most of residents in this area are farmers. They do not have enough potable water for consumption. More than 8 people were already diagnosed with CKDu and few deaths have been reported in the last two years. However, the real number is more than that due to late or missed diagnoses. A major barrier to CKDu prevention is the late identification and poor living condition of the villagers. Sometimes if they are diagnosed as CKDu, they don’t seek proper consultations due to low economic status.

We suppose to make our future generation free from life-threatening CKDu by giving pure water through establishing a state-of-the-art water purification system that uses reverse osmosis techniques to remove harmful chemicals from water. Ms. Suriyani and Group – (Toronto Canada) are willing to take part in this meritorious act as pious sponsors for this project in Saranagama Village, Padiyathalawa. More than 1000 innocent people will be served from this project area.
